Based on 116 reviewsNasi Ulam Eh Poh in Kota Bharu is widely recognized for its authentic Kampung-style and fusion Thai-Chinese-Malay cuisine, praised for its fresh, natural vegetables and homemade condiments like budu and sambal belacan. Reviewers frequently highlight the flavorful ulam platters, tender seafood dishes, and unique offerings such as fried pork and Belut Phat Phet. Refreshing signature drinks, especially the lime beverage, also receive positive mentions. While some items like the fried kembong receive less enthusiasm, the general consensus celebrates the establishment as a hidden gem for satisfying, traditional dishes in a casual setting.
True Kampung style eats. Hidden gem. Hidden place too. Food were delicious. Vegetables were fresh and natural. So tastisfying. Fried pork and Belut Phat Phet awesome. Fried kembong too oily and soso.
Must visit this place if u are in KB. Nice simple Thai food. Reasonable price. Choose the ulam u like to dip with sambal belacan, budu or kicap cili. The light purple lime drink is nice too.
Hidden gem behind a temple. Good fusion style (Thai/Chinese/Malay) food. Nice and interesting ulam. Large menu selection
This is my second time here. Great taste by great cook. Don’t judge this restaurant by its look. If getting the tastiest food is your goal, don’t affect the rating by the environment. This is like a farm-kitchen restaurant with guaranteed tasty Thai cuisine—pork, fish, tomyam soup, etc, & the typical ulam (vege).
Food: Very good homemade budu. The budu is strong and delicious. You can purchase a bottle for RM10. The food is fantastic. Fresh and full of flavour. I liked the sotong paprik. Its full of flavour and the squid is soft. Fresh ulam. The duck egg omelette was delicious. Pucuk paku vegetable stir fry was very good too. The simple fried fish was so good and fresh. Get the lime drink. Its so refreshing! Service is good. I asked permission to bring my pet and they were ok with it. Just be warned and careful because there are other dogs in the vicinity
I’ve always been a big fan of nasi ulam, but this is by far one of the best I’ve had! Love their crispy pork too, and Tom yum! The fried fish was also very fresh. Not to mention, friendly service - felt really homely dining there. If I ever visit Kelantan again will definitely head back! For those who wants a taste of authentic nasi ulam, make sure to try it out! (If you haven’t tried - dip your veggies with their homemade budu! They make all the greens taste that much better.)
They serve local Thai & Nasi Ulam dishes. I like their Fried Chicken with homemade crispy coating!
Ulam selection is fresh and plentiful. Vegetables, Sambal Belacan and Budu is self service. A must-order is their Ikan Kembung Goreng, which is fried upon order. Piping hot and super crispy, that even the bones are edible! A very simple, down-to-earth place for authentic local Kelantanese flavors with reasonable price.
